The Schaffner Flap Wheel is a unique grinding and polishing tool. Now your polishing department can do surface finishing as well due to our flap wheel's versatility and rugged construction. The flap wheel is made up of a series of abrasive coated flaps and are configured to meet your application needs. The flap wheel can grind off large surface imperfections and is great for all the jobs you currently do with set up wheels and cloth or sisal buffing wheels. Whether you are polishing or grinding, the Schaffner Flap wheel provides a smooth quality finish with fewer passes, no ridging, and no lap marks and will even remove excess stock.

Better Contour Finishing:
Because it readily conforms to irregular shapes, the flap wheel eliminates many hand operations and delivers superior contour finishing. On automatic equipment, the flap wheel doesn't need to be pre-shaped. You can simply begin the finishing operation, and the flap wheel will wear down to the exact contour. For hand operations, the flap wheel can easily be pre-shaped by wrapping a course-grit abrasive cloth around the piece to be polished and hold it against the wheel. If your operation requires pre-shaping, no problem, Schaffner can create any flap wheel contour you need.
