Schaffner Manufacturing | Metal Finishing Products Company
Schaffner Manufacturing Company, Inc., has been filling the needs of the metal finishing industry for more than 50 years. The company was founded on the premise that a market exists for high-quality metal finishing products. In the beginning, the company manufactured buffing compound, but soon expanded its product line to include buffing wheels and abrasive flap wheels.
In 1986, the company renewed its commitment to environmental issues by introducing a source-reduction program that included bulk packaging for flap wheels, buffing wheels and buffing compound. In addition, several recycling programs were also unveiled. These programs included recycling buffing wheel stacks and cartridges and the No-Nubbin Meg-A-Vat buffing compound system.
The company's formal commitment to quality goes back at least a decade to when the first formal quality program was initiated. The original program included purchasing specification sheets, in-process testing and product traceability. The quality program continued to evolve, then, in 1997 Schaffner Manufacturing became the first buffing compound manufacturer in
Schaffner's innovation in metal finishing products has resulted in several patents being awarded including patents for stack buffs and cartridge buffs as well as fire retarding buffs.
The company has always been service oriented, developing many of its finishing products in cooperation with its customers. The "can-do attitude" has allowed Schaffner to grow, thus achieving the ability and cost efficiency of a large manufacturer and the quick response time of a small company.
Today, the company continues its commitment to the future with a new generation of Schaffners eager and willing to do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer.
